Access the Bulk change version popup

On the Projects page on the Advanced tab, you can select Bulk operations → Versions to access the Bulk change popup.
It lists all versions from the filtered projects as well as the projects each version exists in.

From there, you can create, update, and delete versions as well as add or remove them to and from projects.

Only specific projects displayed

The popup initially displays only the projects as filtered for on the advanced tab. However, you can refine your selection inside the bulk change popup, too.

Grouped by name

All versions in the popup are grouped by name.

Even though

Creat versions

Create a new version can be done by hitting clicking the Add version button in at the upper top right corner of the bulk change popup. A new version can only be created , if it is associated with at least one project gets associated with that version.

Updating

Update versions

If you want to update the To update a version's name or description of a version, you can hit , click the Edit button next to each the displayed version.

Versions are grouped by name, not by IDAs mentioned above, the versions are grouped by name and not by ID.

Editing a version that is related to several projects results in updating the version in each of that projects.

White spaces in version names

Up to Jira version 8.12.0 it is possible to have leading or trailing white spaces within the version name. If so, you will be notified about that in the UI.

In this case versions won't be displayed as one version, if they have the same name but one of them have leading or trailing white spaces in it.

To add or remove a version from a project, you can just simply select the specific desired projects in from the select box next adjacent to the version.

Versions can easily be deleted , if they are unselected by deselecting them from every associated project.
