Project Shuttle

The Project Shuttle simplifies navigation between your projects within Jira.

A new drop-down menu will be added to the main toolbar, allowing all users to navigate to their favorite projects or links quickly.

You can organize projects or links into categories and subcategories and customize the Project Shuttle with your own icons.

Projects can be divided into categories and subcategories. For example, the image shows the categories Decadis Apps for Jira, Decadis Apps for Confluence, and Marketplace Listings.

Once configured, the Project Shuttle is visible to every user in Jira.

Usage

Every Jira user can utilize the Project Shuttle. Only the projects that users have access to (as determined by the Browse Projects permission) will be displayed. If no categories are defined or no projects have been added, the drop-down menu will not appear.

 


Enable/Disable the Project Shuttle

The Project Shuttle can be globally enabled or disabled. If disabled, the configuration is still available to administrators, but the menu in the toolbar will be hidden.

Configuration

 

Jira Administrator permissions are required to configure the Project Shuttle.

Access Configuration

The Project Shuttle can be set up via Jira administration → Manage apps → Project Shuttle

 

Customize Menu Title

By default, the Project Shuttle can be found in the main toolbar under the label Categories.

This label can also be easily customized by clicking the Edit menu title button in the upper right corner.

In the opening popup, you can enter any text and add emojis.

Changes are immediately visible to all users.

Categories

Categories can be used to group your projects and links.

To add a new category, navigate to Administration → Manage apps → Project Shuttle and click on Add category.

You must specify a name for each category. Optionally, you can select a parent category and an icon.

When hovering over a category, options will appear to Rename it, Add projects, categories, and links to it, or Delete it.

Projects

Projects can be added by selecting Add projects after hovering over a category. You can choose projects to add from a list, with projects on the left available to add, and those on the right already included. To remove a project, hover over it and click 'Remove'.

Enabling Show already added projects will display all projects, including those already in use.

Sorte via Drag & Drop

Categories and projects can be easily sorted via drag & drop.

Expand/ Collapse categories

Use the Expand/Collapse categories button to toggle the visibility of all projects within categories, simplifying navigation.

URLs in the project Shuttle

URLs can be added to the navigation in the Project Shuttle. Adding links is done in a similar way to adding projects. They can be added to the top level of the navigation or to categories, as shown in the screenshot.
